The Carolina Center for Population Aging and Health, established in 2020, is a center in the Demography and Economics of Aging Centers Program sponsored by the National Institute on Aging (P30 AG066615). We are housed within the Carolina Population Center (CPC) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
We support a multidisciplinary group of scholars studying topics related to the demography and economics of aging. Faculty conduct research and primary data collection in support of three themes:
- Aging in diverse contexts
- Links between health and social and economic productivity, and
- Measurement and methods
Research and data produced as part of this center provide important new results on patterns and determinants of healthy aging around the world.
